How listings work
Every firm and individual lawyer in our directory is sourced from the public NZ Law Society register and grouped into a profile page covering practice areas, locations, team size and contact details. Basic listings are free and live by default — they appear in city/practice-area searches and on the firm directory. Claimed profiles unlock the ability to edit your bio, upload photos, list specific specialisations beyond the Law Society's broad categories, surface client reviews, and route quote requests directly to your inbox.
Who we send
Quote requests come from our public-facing Find a Lawyer flow — clients tell us their practice area, location, urgency and budget, and we route the request to firms that match. The leads are pre-qualified (they've described the matter, given contact details, and acknowledged that LawyerFinder NZ doesn't give legal advice) but not vetted for conflict-of-interest — that's still on you. We don't take a cut of fees and we don't run a referral fee model: leads either come included with a paid plan or, in the future, will be available on a per-lead pricing model with transparent unit cost.
Eligibility & verification
To claim a profile you'll need a current practising certificate and a verifiable email at the firm's domain (we use this to confirm you have authority to edit the listing). We cross-check every claim against the NZ Law Society register before activating edits. If your firm isn't listed yet, fill in the form above and we'll add it within a business day.
